Meet the team: Mel Macaulay
Get to know our people and the great work they do in our new 'Meet the Team' series. First up is Mel, Workforce Solutions Manager for our Northern Regions.
How long have you been at HVTC? I'm coming up to my 6th year with HVTC in April.
What does your role as a Workforce Solutions Manager involve? Leading a team of Workforce Solutions Specialists (WSS) and working closely with them to support their apprentices/trainees and hosts throughout the whole process; from recruitment right through to completion. I also support the Operations Manager in the roll out of our organisational goals and KPIs to support my team to grow their skills and knowledge.
How would you describe your leadership style? I empower my team to feel confident in their ability to do their job independently, but I'm always there as a sounding board for advice or ideas. I like that I'm given the autonomy to manage the team my way, and I provide the same trust to my team.

What do you love about working for HVTC Group? Definitely the growth and development opportunities. In my time I've transitioned from a Workforce Solutions Specialist, have completed a Certificate IV in WHS and am currently working towards a Diploma of Leadership and Management.
Do you have any New Year resolutions? This year is about consistency and routine, to allow work-life balance.
