Women in Trades

The NSW Government and HVTC are committed to increasing the number of women in male-dominated trades.

A non-traditional trade is one where women represent less than 25% of apprentices or workers. These include horticulture, automotive, building and construction, manufacturing, butchery, boilermaking, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, engineering and more!

If you work well in a team, have good communication skills and strong practical skills, maybe you should consider a non-traditional trade?

In return you’ll receive lifelong qualifications, a selection of job pathways, increased earning capacity, job security, transferable skills and increased employability.

HVTC will provide support and mentoring throughout your apprenticeship or traineeship. Check the page on our website to see what’s available near you.
